As promised when we launched Brass Monkey, our aim was to find local talent and dig deep into the fluff and chewing gum wrappers of the pockets of our collective Levi's and put out to an eager public some monumental pop records.
Believe us when we say that Beat Six make a Mon-You Mental pop choon.
Beat Six have been on the radar of industry for a little while now, having been featured on the PopWorld website, reviewed by notable contemporaries and generally enjoying, if not yet a buzz, an ever increasing loud hum!
The first single is called "When Chemicals Ignite (with fuel)" and has been produced by Tristan Ivemy at Miloco and mastered by John Davis of Alchemy. There are far too many credits of his to list but follow this link to read and weep my friends. http://www.discogs.com/artist/John+Davis+(4) Kaisers, The Enemy and The View are recent examples of his wizardry at work.
Beat Six, having recently been signed by London management company Momentum - www.momentummgmt.co.uk , who have inspirationally engaged Ian Brown's PR/Plugging agency Vision PR, have every faith that "Chemicals" will be blasting out across our Jerusalem come Good Friday and splashed across the waves of the air we call Radio
The single is scheduled for release on 12th May 2008
We have a lot more news for you coming on the Eskimo Project 2nd Album soon, so watch this space.
Sweet,
BMM.
Homework Project
The enigma that are Eskimo Project are getting closer and closer to having their 2nd tome completed and we have been enjoying the most recent mixes whilst hacking round the Staines one-way system in our company RS Cosworth. If you see a heavily-inked forearm squashed against the bottom of an open window of a Cossie with a Rothmans pinched between forefinger and index, that will be The Pig, our version of Top Gears’ The Stig who we get to Road Test all BMM material as this is the only true place to hear if a recording really bangs the drums. And this one gets under the skin like a tattooists gun.
Another winter in the studio only goes to show that Eskimo Project have more grit that a council salt-spreader and this is borne out in the latest collection of tracks. Heavier guitar but with beguiling melodies and strangely uplifting harmonies, this record will cock the ear of all hardened music fans looking for a little more than skinny jeans and skinny ties to go with their skinny lattes.
The Rumour Mill
Overheard at an Industry Awards ceremony.....”Eskimo Project had let slip during a meeting with their Press Agent, Simon Towell, that they may do a secret gigs this year.” That’s it, that’s all I heard....
